The Austro-American Society for Styria is pleased to invite everyone interested to a virtual round table discussion - Talking Oscars 2021: Insights, Reflections, Dialogue - organized together with Land Steiermark and A9: Kultur, Europa, Sport – Büro für AuslandssteirerInnen.
With the 93rd Academy Awards taking place this weekend, a panel of experts will share their insights and expectations. The impact that the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic as well as the (global) struggle for social justice and equality has had on the media industry will be used as a launchpad for getting insights into the workings of Tinseltown from a panel of speakers who have worked in, reported on and/or studied the Hollywood dream factory.
You are all cordially invited to join virtually on Friday, April 23, 6 pm.
The panel discussion will feature the following speakers:
* Barbara Gasser (Journalist and member of the Hollywood Foreign Press Association)
* James Forsher (Seattle-based filmmaker and film scholar)
* Simon Maierhofer (Student with an interest in film and media)
The discussion will be moderated by Stefan "Steve" Rabitsch (ÖAG Steiermark).
