Cooperation Talks at Arizona State University
From October 27 to November 2, 2015, Roberta Maierhofer and Ulla Kriebernegg visited Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. In addition to presenting their current research at the conferences “Feminisms and Rhetorics 2015” and “Western States Rhetoric and Literacy Conference,” the researchers of the Center for Inter-American Studies also conducted several cooperation talks on site. Contact persons were Maureen Goggin (English Department, Arizona State University), Devoney Looser (English Department, Arizona State University), Ames Hawkins (Department of English, Columbia College Chicago), Jesus Rosales (School of International Letters and Cultures, Arizona State University) and Volker Benkert (History Department, Arizona State University). The talks focused on preparations for already planned activities such as the organization of joint workshops or research stays but also allowed for the discussion of new opportunities for cooperation, for instance in the field of Chicano Studies. The cooperation talks thus successfully contributed to the strengthening of the regional focus area “the Americas” of the University of Graz.
