On May 19, 2022, we reflect on the last 15 years of the Center for Inter-American Studies and highlight some past developments, present performances, and future goals. The past 15 years have shown that the Center has succeeded in reconceptualizing traditional approaches, not only in terms of transnational and trans-regional methods for an analysis of a continent but also in terms of an interdisciplinary and interregional approach to European-American research.
During the last 15 years, the Center for Inter-American Studies has become a focal point for collaboration and connections and has developed tools and methodological approaches for interdisciplinary research. It has so far been able to provide a platform and basis for sustainble relationships within American and European networks and for further research collaborations and teaching cooperations with institutions of higher learning on the continent America.
