The Grup d'Educació i Gènere are pleased to announce that applications for the Pre‑Conference Event of Feminist Weaves in Education are now open. The pre‑conference will take place on 28th October 2026 at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, ahead of the main conference scheduled for 28th–30th October.
This pre‑conference session explores the reconfiguration of feminist research on childhood and youth within the socio‑educational field, focusing on education and gender through non‑adult‑centric perspectives. Drawing on intersectional and decolonial approaches, it will map current critical research on childhood and youth, examining key themes, fields, and methodologies. The session will also address Comprehensive Sexuality Education (CSE) and critically engage with gender‑based violence and dominant notions of vulnerability, highlighting how diverse young people’s experiences can challenge adult‑centric frameworks and reshape research agendas and educational practices.
The event is particularly designed for early‑career researchers, including those currently in training, those interested in beginning an academic career, and those who have recently completed their doctoral studies. For this reason, the programme will also include a collective feminist mentoring workshop aimed at strengthening the work of early‑career researchers through collaborative reflection.
