Research activities at the Woodrow Wilson International Center focus on topics related to Central Europe with a particular focus on transatlantic relations and conflict transformation.

SCHOLARSHIP (Deadline: 31 March 2021)
>> Laura Bassi Scholarship
The Laura Bassi Scholarship, which awards a total of $8,000 thrice per annum, was established by Editing Press in 2018 with the aim of providing editorial assistance to postgraduates and junior academics whose research focuses on neglected topics of study, broadly construed. 
All currently enrolled master’s and doctoral candidates are eligible to apply, as are academics in the first five years of full-time employment. Applicants are required to submit a completed application form along with their CV through the application portal by the relevant deadline.

CALL FOR SUBMISSIONS (Deadline: 1 April 2021)
>> Research Workshop "Mapping Cosmos"
The Department of International Development (ID) at the London School of Economics (LSE) invites submissions to a one-day virtual workshop taking place on the 17th of May 2021 at 4 pm GMT, from academics and activists who engage with the concept of ‘cosmopolitics’ and investigate the bond that ties humans to the landscapes, challenging dualistic understandings of the nature/culture relation. In particular, we welcome reflections on the political resignification of nature that emerge in contexts of environmental degradation and environmental conflicts.

El Department of International Development (ID) at the London School of Economics (LSE) invita a académicos y activistas que trabajan con el concepto de “cosmopolitica” e investigan la relación entre seres humanos y paisajes, desafiando las visiones dualistas de la relación cultura/naturaleza, a presentar ponencias en el marco de un workshop virtual que se estará realizando de manera virtual el día 17 de Mayo 2021 a las 4 pm GMT. Este workshop tendrá una duración de un día. Para efectos del enfoque temático de este espacio, son bienvenidas las reflexiones sobre la resignificación política de la naturaleza que emerge en contextos de degradación medio ambiental y de conflictos ambientales.

>> Dissertation Award for Research on Migration (Deadline: 9 April 2021)
The Dissertation Award for Research on Migration is awarded by the Austria Academy of Sciences for a doctoral thesis project that has been submitted and accepted for supervision at an Austrian university but is yet to be completed and examines refugeeism and migration, the integration of migrants or societal transformation as a result of migration. Submissions are welcome from all fields of the social sciences, humanities and jurisprudence and legal theory. Doctoral/PhD studies may not have begun more than three years before the date of submission. Applicants do not have to hold Austrian citizenship.

>> Conny Kristel Fellowship Programme 2021 (Deadline: 15 March 2021)
By facilitating international access to an unprecedented range of key archives and collections related to the Holocaust as well as archival and digital humanities expertise, the EHRI Conny Kristel Fellowships support and stimulate Holocaust research conducted by researchers, archivists, librarians, curators, and junior scholars, especially PhD candidates with limited resources.
The Kristel Fellowships are funded by the European Union under the rules of transnational access and are thus principally intended for applicants working at institutions established in member states (the EU-27) and states associated to Horizon 2020. Candidates from Central and Eastern Europe are especially encouraged to apply. It is not possible to apply for a Kristel Fellowship at an institution in the same country where one works.
